10 FUN ACTIVITIES TO DO THIS FALL

  1. Apple Picking: Last year I went to Wilklow Orchards! Just like pumpkin picking they also allowed pets. Not as many activities as the pumpkin patch I visit in Long Island, but they do have a Live Music on Friday nights, and a Farm Bar that serves hard cider on weekends. Speaking of cider, Wilklow Orchard Cider is 10/10. Probably one of the best freshest cider’s I’ve had in life. To get in you pay for a bag. Small bag gets 2 people in and holds 10-12lbs. Large bag gets 4 people in and holds 20-25 lbs. You can buy as many bags as you want. Don’t forget to try the cider, believe me.. it is AMAZING! This farm is about 2hrs & 30minutes from NYC. If you can’t make it to the farm then don’t worry I have seen them downtown at the farmers market on court street. They also have two other locations in Brooklyn where they are partnered with these farmer markets. Check here: https://www.wilkloworchards.com/brooklyn
  2. Cozy up and watch movies: As soon as October 1st hits, you know what time it is. 31 Nights of halloween on freeform! They play the classic halloween movies. So nostalgic. I have been indulging non sparkling fresh pumpkin cider from Aldi’s and the halloween Oreo’s! Best selfceare ever.
  3. Halloween Movie Night at Rooftop Reds: Another Brooklyn gem. Rooftop Reds wineries host movie nights in October annually for Halloween. Tickets are about 28$pp and includes your ticket, two slices of pizza, and popcorn. This is a winery and they do still operate during the movie. So yes you can enjoy a wine & pizza night. Makes for a cute date night or girls night out. Movies are shown at sundown so I do advise bringing a blanket or a warm sweater as fall nights tend to be chillier. You can reserve tickets here: https://www.eventbrite.com/o/rooftop-reds-11110363924
  4. Nap: When all else fails, cozy up with a cute throw and nap all the day.
  5. Take a stroll at Prospect Park: Have you ever seen Prospect Park in the fall? My goodness, the leaves have turned, the air is crisp. It is simply the most beautiful sight ever. I usually like to follow behind my bf when he goes to workout. I’ll do some pilates or yoga and we’ll cool off with a walk through the park.
  6. Pumpkin Picking: I absolutely love pumpkin picking from the bottom of my heart. For several reasons… to decorate, to cook, to paint, to eat! One of my favorite places to go for pumpkin picking is Waterdrinker Family Farm & Garden. It is in the heart Manorville NY. Pumpkin area is free to enter, everywhere else is 20$pp on the weekends, and 15$pp on the weekday. Children under 2 are free. What I love is that they are pet-friendly so the whole family is invited. literally. When I went I enjoyed the hayride, the corn maze, and the food trucks! They have so many more activities! Waterdrinker is about 2hrs from NYC. Check them out here: https://www.water-drinker.com/fallfestival
  7. Glamping: So for my 27th birthday my bf took me to Getaway House in Catskills NY! Everything about this getaway was spectacular. The views were amazing. The beautiful colored leaves, the dewy wild air, and we were lucky enough to fall asleep to the sound of rain. It was nice waking up to a beautiful sunset straight out of our cabin. Not too far was the Kaaterskills Falls. My bf and I hiked straight to the waterfall. So breathtaking. I have never experienced a waterfall so up close and personal. Our cabin was equipped with all our basic needs, a stove top, sink dryer rack, bathroom, heater and a s’mores kit. Right outside of it was a grill and lounge chairs. I highly suggest that you pick up snacks and etc. before arriving here, because this is legit in the middle of nowhere. Factor in easy meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Also would suggest bringing books, games and any other things to keep you occupied. Like I said this cabin has all of your BASIC needs. I should mention there is no tv, or computers and etc. Just outlets. If you like to go camping and be in the woods this is for you. The drive upstate is about 3hrs from NYC. 8. Winery: This year I had the pleasure of going wine tasting at Red Hook Winery. They are located in Red Hook, Brooklyn right on the East River with the most beautiful views of the Verrazano Bridge, Statue of Liberty, and Manhattan. The wine tasting is priced at $25pp for groups of 2-4, and 35$pp for groups of 5-10. The price is great considering your getting a decent size sample of 6 different wines. The menu has a few snack options. If you’re looking for a full menu then this isn’t the place for you. Especially since this winery is isolated. However, the cheese and charcuterie board was so good. Who doesn’t love a cheese and wine pairing tho? Check them out here: https://redhookwinery.com

9. Football / Baseball Game: I am not a huge football or baseball fan, but I am a lover of good people and great vibes. And there is nothing vizier than a lit crowd at a home game when they’re winning. Citified was also done over, and it looks so good. Plus they have so many yummy food vendors!

10. Hiking: This year, on Mental Health Day I spent it with my friends at Palisades International State Park. It’s filled with amazing views of the Hudson River facing the Bronx. What’s great about this hike is that it is only 90 minutes away from NYC! Usually you have to drive far up north for great vies and a great hike, but this one does it for me. The waterfall was not as grand as Kaaterskills Falls, but the fact that Chipotle was less than 10 minutes away made up for it. It was tricky finding the entrance on the drive up so my suggestion is putting in State Line Cafe in order to pin point the parking lot.
